Our History
Our Lady of the Pines Roman Catholic Church is a mountain parish dedicated to our Blessed Mother. We support and evangelize through liturgy, worship, service and community building events.
Organized religious education classes, began in private homes.
In January, 90 Catholics met with Monsignor Robert Hoffman, Pastor of Christ the
King in Evergreen to request approval to form a nucleus for a Catholic Parish in
Conifer.On August 19th, ground was broken for construction of an all-purpose building. A
committee was formed to select a name for the new church.On September 25th, Archbishop James Casey celebrated a Mass of Dedication.
On May14th , by decree of Archbishop Stafford, Our Lady of the Pines was
canonically established as a parish and St. Elizabeth was designated mission of
Our Lady of the Pines.
On May 29th, Father Michael Schlut was named our first Pastor.On June 30th, a rectory was purchased.
On September 4th, the Building Committee was formed for the construction of our
permanent Church (Sanctuary).On May 8th, Father Reuben Payo was named our Pastor.
On July 15th, Dedication of the new Church.
On June 27th, Father James Baird was named our Pastor.
In January the parish mortgage was paid off ahead of schedule.
On June 18th, Father Timothy Gaines was named our Pastor.
